Hi there! I'm Dan.
(and that's Toasty)
I didn’t really grow up thinking I’d be a wedding photographer. Photography was always something I liked, something I’d pick up here and there, but at some point it just kind of turned into more than that without me really planning it.
What I realized pretty quickly is that I’m not that interested in perfectly posed, super controlled photos. The stuff I actually care about is everything happening in between, the quick reactions, the moments people don’t even realize are happening, the parts of the day that end up meaning the most later.
I’m based in New Hampshire, but travel anywhere in New England and my approach is pretty laid back. I’m not going to be the person stopping your day every five minutes to set something up. I’ll step in when I need to, but for the most part I’m there to let things happen and make sure they’re captured as they actually felt.
Weddings can be a lot, there’s timelines, expectations, a million moving parts, and I try to be more than just the person taking photos. If I can help keep things calm, keep things on track, or just be someone you can rely on throughout the day, that matters just as much to me as the photos themselves.
Most couples tell me they feel comfortable pretty quickly, which is always the goal. When you feel like yourself, everything just works better, and the photos end up looking like you, not something forced.
At the end of the day, I’m not trying to turn your wedding into something it’s not. I just want to capture it the way it actually happened, and the way it actually felt.
If that sounds like what you’re looking for, I’d love to hear about what you’re planning.
